* World Water Congress, Montpellier (France), 1-4 September 2008
This major triennial event organised by the International Water Resources Association (IWRA), the 13th of its kind, was superbly hosted by AGROPOLIS, with the support of the French Government, the Region of Languedoc Roussillon and the City of Montpellier. AIDA was represented by its Chairman, Dominique Alhéritière. Several AIDA members were present and took an active role. One of them, Lilian del Castillo-Laborde is in fact the Secretary-General of IWRA and was very busy indeed. The opening ceremony was of a very high intellectual level with the presentation made by the President of IWRA, Cecilia Tortajada, and by the Secretary-General of OECD, Angel Gurría. During the series of Q&As which followed, with Henri Carsalade, President of AGROPOLIS as moderator, the Chairman of AIDA had an opportunity to present the Association. The 14th World Water Congress will be held in Recife (Brazil) in November 2011 with an entire session dedicated to water law. New developments in this regard will hopefully be posted soon.
