Latin American Workshop on International Water Law

The Latin American Workshop on International Water Law  took place in Bogota, Colombia, on 3-7 March 2014. It focused on the management of transboundary water resources in Latin America, and on existing cooperation efforts, especially in the light of the challenges created by climate change and variability.

The workshop was part of a training programme on the Law of International Waters that aims to promote international cooperation in the further development of this important subject. The programme was elaborated by the Global Water Partnership (GWP) in close cooperation, inter alia, with the University of Colombia, LA-WetNet, the Pontificates Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the University Gabriela Mistral of Chile.
